These Terms of Service govern your use of Trivia Showdown, a Discord Activity trivia application. By using the app, you agree to these Terms.

1. About the App

Trivia Showdown is a multiplayer trivia game designed for use through Discord Activities. The app allows users to play quiz-style games, use buzzers, track scores, and create or import custom question boards.

2. No Affiliation

This app is an independent trivia platform. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected with Jeopardy!, Sony Pictures Television, Discord Inc., or any of their affiliates unless expressly stated. All trademarks, logos, names, and intellectual property belong to their respective owners.

3. User Content

The app may allow users to create, upload, import, display, or share custom trivia boards, clues, answers, images, links, or other content (“User Content”). You are solely responsible for any User Content you provide.

By using the app, you confirm that:

• You own your User Content, or you have permission to use it.
• Your User Content does not infringe copyright, trademarks, privacy rights, publicity rights, or any other rights of another person or organisation.
• Your User Content does not contain unlawful, harmful, abusive, hateful, or otherwise inappropriate material.

4. Licence to Operate the App

You retain ownership of your User Content. However, by submitting or displaying User Content through the app, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, display, transmit, and process that content only as necessary to operate and improve the app.

5. Copyright and Intellectual Property Complaints

We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe content available through the app infringes your copyright or other rights, please contact us at fin.yet@gmail.com with enough information to identify the content and explain the issue.

We may remove or disable access to content that we reasonably believe infringes another party’s rights, violates these Terms, or creates legal or safety concerns.

6. Prohibited Use

You agree not to use the app to:

• Upload, import, or share content you do not have the right to use.
• Harass, threaten, abuse, or harm other users.
• Attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, or interfere with the app or its servers.
• Use the app for unlawful, deceptive, or harmful purposes.
• Violate Discord’s Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, Developer Terms, or Developer Policy.

7. Discord Account and Platform Rules

The app runs through Discord. Your use of Discord is governed by Discord’s own terms, policies, and privacy practices. We are not responsible for Discord’s services, outages, account actions, or platform decisions.

8. Availability and Changes

We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue the app at any time. We may also change features, remove content, reset game data, or limit access where necessary for technical, legal, safety, or operational reasons.

9. No Warranties

The app is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or suitable for any particular purpose.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, or other intangible losses arising from your use of the app.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising from your User Content, your use of the app, or your violation of these Terms.

12. Termination

We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access to the app if we believe you have violated these Terms, misused the app, infringed another party’s rights, or created risk for the app, other users, or us.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, unless another jurisdiction’s laws are required to apply. Any disputes will be handled by the courts of New Zealand, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
